Growing almost solely by word of mouth and ever increasing health professional referrals, OFP has now given hope and healthcare to over 31,000 patients and OFP practitioners often see patients beyond Greater Springfield with some coming from as far as Ipswich City and surrounds, Sunshine and Gold Coast, Forest Lake, Brisbane inner suburbs and of course the 4300 postcode suburbs all around Greater Springfield. 

So overwhelming and positive has the response been to OFP’s "Healthcare that (actually) Cares " unique approach  - we are now multi-award winning:

It all began in 2007 when Founder and Principal Physiotherapist, Adam Atherton, had a dream to provide a Healthcare experience with a difference, “Healthcare that Cares” .  A place where you are not just a number and not just a patient.  A place where modern science meets good ol' fashioned care factor - the key ingredient in healthcare that is often missing in the busy modern world and healthcare sector. 

With diverse experiences derived from private practice settings in Brisbane’s western suburbs and St. Lucia, co-leading the physio dept. for a large RSL aged care facility to Sports Physio experiences working as the team physio for Soccer, AFL and Mixed Martial Arts clubs, Adam began in the Greater Springfield area running a successful mobile physiotherapy business in 2007 (with a portable table in the back of his old subaru liberty :)   

Adam was passionate to open a destination clinic that was fresh, innovative and honest in (the then new and emerging) Orion Springfield Town Centre in the heart of the growing new city here in Springfield Central.

Adam’s clinical strengths lie in his clinical reasoning skills and pursuit of gaining the correct patho-anatomical diagnosis. His clinical philosophy is holistic care, based on the evidence based Bio-Psycho-Social approach with a keen interest in pain neurophysiology, the bedrock of his clinical practice.

The team at Orion Family Physiotherapy have all adopted this flair and flavour combining expert hands-on therapy, exercise interventions and clear rational thinking and treatment plans combining latest evidence based techniques together for the patients individual needs. 

Armed with this desire to deliver world class Healthcare and to raise up the next generation of Health Professionals, Adam has a big heart to mentor and educate his team.   OFP practitioners specialize in not just treating symptoms but addressing the cause to give patients the best long term outcome. Our management of your condition will be a commitment to your total care and empowerment with self-management strategies to help prevent problem recurrences.
